Life in the Barn

|ONE|  year… It’s only a snippet but man we will truly treasure it .  We lived above the barn in the apartment while we transformed our 1930’s craftsmen.  The months quickly passed!  The 1 bedroom and 1 bath, bunks in the dining room, was a lifesaver. This small space did more than we expected.  It made us closer, gave us the chance to reflect on what really matters, gave us something to look forward to.  We still homeschooled, entertained, and loved!  Now that we have lived in our HOME for two weeks WOOHOO.. I kind of miss the apartment.

Buying a Cow. How much beef is it?

In our “new” found world I think most of us have considered buying from locals and also stocking up our freezers. What about beef? How much is enough? How much is too much? I found this article from Clover Meadow’s Beef and they do an amazing job going over the most common questions when purchasing beef straight from a rancher. The idea of ranch beef is growing and no matter how you look at it, it’s a great option.

Happy National Ag Day!

My passion and the reason why I love helping clients move from city to country is to help preserve the ag mindset. My life and that of my small family has changed since we purchased our RANCHETTE. I grew up a farm girl and I wanted that so much for Josh and my kids. We are by no means big time farmers and ranchers, but our hobby farm is defiantly a huge part of our life. It changed our mindset so much. It influences what we value, the work that we fill our free time with, and the way our kids see the world.

Sunday - A day of rest

It’s Sunday and for the first time the day seemed to match the feeling. It felt like a typical Sunday. We “watched” Mass {that was a new experience}, but the kids were still wiggling around and trying to tell me that their toe nail suddenly needed to be trimmed LOL. I felt like I was in the pew.

I went to Joann’s and picked up some fabric...

Happy Spring

In another world, today would have been a bustling day filled with activities; opening ceremonies for baseball, my daughter’s church retreat, meeting with my nieces florist, and a few real estate appointments.  But today is so different than I expected two weeks ago.

So many are wondering  about real estate. Where is it going? I am confident that  we are going to make it through this. It is just a small bump in the road. I have been contemplating how I can document this time in our lives and share real estate, recipes, crafts, kids, and life at home. I decided what  better way than my blog. So here it is… Day 1 {I usually blame my busy life for the lack of blog posts...no excuses now}

How to make FRIENDS with Boysenberries

Here is our family favorite boysenberry cobbler recipe that will be sure to please when served hot and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Yum! I also make lots of boysenberry jam and syrup. This year I shared my stash with friends and clients. There is nothing better than homemade and homegrown and it will keep your friends coming back for more  :)

My Story

My story starts in 2007, when I graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a Business Marketing degree and got married - all in the same year! After several years in the business world, feeling restless about my career, I embarked on a new endeavor as a Realtor. My business slowly took off as I juggled being a fireman’s wife and having three small kids all under the age of four.

After our own major city to country move, I soon found that my passions for real estate, design, and farm life were all coming together.

City to Country: What Kind of Ranchette Buyer are You?

Not all Ranchettes are the same! As a buyer, you really have to take a step back and evaluate what you’re planning to do on your new property.
